Last year, Playing House was dead.
The show was effectively canceled. USA was about to declare an end to the series — and its push to produce half-hour comedies altogether. But then an intense letter-writing and social media campaign scored the show a surprise renewal.
One of Playing House‘s stars, Jessica St. Clair, said fans got “aggressive.”
“The letters came non-stop,” she told Mashable. “Basically, they all said, ‘get your shit together,’ and it legit saved the show.”
On Playing House, St. Clair plays a lovable career woman named Emma who ditches her job in China to return to her tiny hometown and help her best friend Maggie (Lennon Parham) raise Maggie’s baby. To make things more complicated, Maggie recently caught her husband cheating. Read more…
